Monday morning after the season ending loss I had posted as my facebook status that I was listening to Mozart Requiem. I didn't mention the Red Sox, but a friend picked up on it.
Here is what he said, starting with the Latin of the Requiem & translation:
Confutatis maledictis
Flammis acribus addictis,
Voca me cum benedictis.
[translation]
When the accursed have been confounded
And given over to the bitter flames,
Call me with the blessed.
By which Herr Mozart means you'll feel better when the undoubtedly accursed NY Yankees are cast down into bitter flames by the avenging "angelo" we fondly remember as St Manny of Ramirez.
I think he's close, but I think it needs a bit of polishing.
I see where he's going with the St. Manny comment, but it's not quite on ...
Ideas?
