A Busy Friday in Red Sox Nation

A Friday in late January is usually the slowest time for Red Sox news but there is plenty to report on today:

The details of the negotiations between the Red Sox and Jason Bay have come out.  Water under the bridge if you ask me but it may be of interest to some.

The contract negotiations with Jeremy Hermida are going well. Theo may continue his perfect record of avoiding arbitration.

Ian Browne takes a look at catching prospect Luis Exposito.  NESN interviewed Expositio last season.

Minor League Ball interviewed Red Sox farm director Mike Hazen.  The outlook for Lars Anderson is still good:

Lars had streaks where he was very good and streaks where he wasn't. We are still very optimistic about him. He's very talented, the skills and tools are still there, he controls the strike zone, his swing fundamentals are fine, he has plus raw power, he works hard at improving.

If you need some more from Bill Lee, Richard Giffin of the Toronto Sun has another column up from his interview including this nugget:

Jose Canseco says he and McGwire injected each other in the bathroom stalls in the A's clubhouse. "That was part of the routine," Lee shrugged. "It was as gruesome as it seems seeing those two a-holes in one stall. It must have been a handicapped stall. You couldn't fit them in a regular stall."
