Red Sox left-fielder Jason Bay won his first Silver Slugger Award for the 2009 season.  Bay hit .267 with 119 RBI's and an OPS of .921

Congrats to Jason Bay, now it's time for John Henry to open up the checkbook and get him signed.

Thats not a good motive to sign him, on the fact to raise his value. The redsox made a $15mil yearly offer and Jason wants more.

So be it.

They gotta start somewhere. It's just a big game of high stakes poker.

I would love to see Jason Bay in a Red Sox uniform, but there is a lot to be said for winning a world series without writing ridiculously large checks. A fair wage, sure, but if a guy is looking more towards the $$ instead of team devotion then let him go. $15 mil isn't good enough? Give me a break.
