Buchholz Struggles in Final Start

Terry Francona will announce his postseason rotation after today's game and it is very likely that Clay Buchholz will not be the third starter.  Buchholz's third pitch of the game was taken deep by Luis Valbuena.  The fifth inning became a nightmare for the Red Sox starter when he walked the lead-off batter and then loaded the bases with a pair of singles.  Buchholz then walked in a run.  The damage didn't stop there; he gave up another single and a double in the inning to let the Tribe score 5 runs.  His day was done after the inning came to an end.

This is the second bad start in a row for Buchholz move him down to the fourth starter for the ALDS with Dice-K pitching game 3.  Either way he was only going to get one start in the series if it goes that far.  Check back later for the update when Tito announces the order.

The Red Sox looked fine at the plate with Gonzalez, Pedroia, J.D. Drew, and Lowrie all going deep. (Drew twice and Lowrie's was a grand slam)  Jacoby stole his 70th base of the year in the game, Ortiz did not reach a milestone when he struck out in the bottom of the 8th while sitting on 99 RBI's.  The Red Sox ended the regular season with a record of 95-67

Red Sox Win 12-7 BOX SCORE

Indians 1 0 5 0 0 0 1 0 0 7 8 0
