Big Papi Needs to Sit for Game 3
Written by Matt O'Donnell

David Ortiz is in a slump again; he is having a hard time catching up to fastballs and Angels pitchers are giving him a steady diet of them.  He is now 0-8 in the ALDS with 4 strikeouts and has not even hit the ball hard on any of his outs.  Big Papi has a career average of .205 against Angels Game 3 starter Scott Kazimir so don't expect a big turnaround at Fenway.

Casey Kotchman has 2 hits in 5 career at bats against Kazmir so it might be time to put him at first and have Lowell DH for Game 3.

Lowell DH? Did you NOT see the plays he made in last night's game? But agreed that Ortiz needs to sit.

Did you not see his face after making those plays? Pain. We need him for the ALCS vs the Yanks.

papi will and should sit but i wouldn't say he's the big problem, not by himself anyway.

There are plenty of other bats to blame, I just think he will have a harder time getting it going against Kaz.
