The Red Sox bats remained silent in SoCal as Jared Weaver held them to just 2 hits in 7 1/3 innings.  Pedroia, Ortiz, Bay, Lowell, Drew and Gonzalez all had goose eggs at the plate in the game. The Red Sox lone run came in the 4th when Ells led off the inning with a triple and V-Mart drove him in with a base hit.

Beckett was dealing for most of the game but he walked Vlad to start the 7th and then the Angels took the lead and did not look back.  The Sox did get the tying run up in the top of the 9th but Mike Lowell flied out to center.

The Angels now lead the series 2-0, the next game will be at Fenway at 12:07pm Eastern 9:07 am Pacific with Clay Buchholz on the mound for the Red Sox.

shoulda pulled beckett. . .
Shoulda pulled Beckett after the walk to Guerrero. He was nowhere near the plate and it was obvious he was done. Oh well. . . different team at Fenway.

I was saying the same thing. Vlad is a free swinger and if you can't get it near the plate to him then you have lost it.
