The fallback plan if the Red Sox cannot find a suitable shortstop is to have Dustin Pedrioa step in according to a report from ESPN Boston:

"They've asked me if I think I could play shortstop," Pedroia told ESPN's Peter Gammons. "They've put it out there and I've told them I'm all for it. I can do it. I can't wait for [Terry Francona] to call me and ask, 'can you do it?' I can do it. I really want to do it."

OK so now who plays second?  Here's the list of second base free agents:

I dont care who plays 2nd since Peddy might be Happy Back in Short I just hate the name "Nick Green" at short.

Make a man happy and he will give you Hits, Dustin For Short! Would that make him a "Real Short Stop"? LOL

The only way that this move makes sense is if the RedSox get Brandon Phillips,who will improve the team defensevely and a lot ofensevely...I think the Redsox need to get a 300.avg hitter at short or second(if pedroia is moved to short) in order to compete with those demm yankees!!!
